Local Fall Fun for the Family!

Part of being a local dentist means knowing the best spots in town to create even MORE smiles! The 757 Williamsburg community is packed with fun year-round, and it’s fun for the entire family! To help you and the kids, your favorite family dentist, Dr. Burden, has compiled the best sites and events to visit this fall.

Since going to the local dentist can sometimes seem scary…learn to fight the fears at Busch Gardens! Howl-O-Scream is one of the top attractions of the fall, with haunted mazes and scary shows that will delight and fright the entire family. The park is also open during day hours with all attractions and normal season rides running. Howl-O-Scream hours are 10am-11pm on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays until the end of October.

Bush Neck Farm

An apple a day keeps the doctor away…but not the local dentist! Bush Neck Farm in Williamsburg is the perfect place to pick apples for a nice warm pie, or get the perfect pumpkin to carve for the kids. Pumpkins are just $3-5, and you pick your own straight from the vine. The farm is open year-round with fresh fruits and vegetables, and a beautiful landscape for family photos. The weekly hours are  am – 4:00 pm Mon. – Sat. https://www.facebook.com/pg/Bush-Neck-FarmInc-677582175648404/reviews/?ref=page_internal

Second Sundays

Second Sundays Williamsburg is a fantastic way to celebrate the arts each month, on…you guessed it…the 2nd Sunday! The monthly event is presented by Blue Talon Bistro, and features more than 75 Artisans & local Authors for Children & Adults; From Classic & Colonial to Abstract & Upcycled, Vintage Boutique Kids Clothing, Paintings to Pottery, Woodworks, Glass, Jewelry, Photography & More! There is also a children’s activity tent sponsored by Artfully Yours & Grow Happy Studio! You may even find run into your favorite family dentist, Dr. Burden, at this event!

Run for the Hills Fall Fest

Run for the Hills Fall Fest is a sponsored event that benefits Beyond Boobs! And Pink Link, national non-profits to benefit those affected by breast cancer. You can decide to participate in a 1 mile fun run, a 5k, or take the challenge and lace up for a 10k! Bring the entire family and support an amazing cause! We at Dr. Burden’s office are proud to be the local dentist supporting Breast Cancer awareness, and this annual event!https://www.beyondboobs.org/events/bb-annual-events/run-for-the-hills-5k10k-and-fall-fest-post-race/

Duke of Gloucester Street

The historical center of Williamsburg, the artistic center of the 757, and the new fun spot for the family! There are shops galore to entertain and entice, like Quirks of Art specialty artwork, Wythe’s Candy Store for a sweet treat, and Aroma’s Coffee Shop for when the kids drag ya down a little. Don’t forget to brush up after you have a quick bite at the Cheese Shop-we can’t help it, we’re the family dentist! The historical sites of Colonial Williamsburg, where battles were fought and won, where the students of William and Mary study, and where horse-drawn carriages trot the nearly-paved streets, are just a quick walk away!

We are all so lucky to be a part of a vibrant community, with a life as colorful as the autumn leaves! Take a tour of the Williamsburg area, participate in the events that bring us together, then don’t forget to floss!

And when those unexpected dental emergencies happen or it’s time for you and your family’s routine cleanings, call Dr. Burden’s office to receive the best dental care the area can offer!
